Open Mind, Fearless Mind

This image of the Carina Nebula captures "the top of a three-light-year-tall pillar of gas and dust that is being eaten away by the brilliant light from nearby stars. The pillar is also being pushed apart from within, as infant stars buried inside it fire off jets of gas that can be seen streaming from towering peaks like arrows sailing through the air."

Viewed with the naked eye, this nebula, which has already given birth to over 14,000 identified stars, is just a pinpoint in the sky. The reality of our true nature, and that of our universe, is more amazing, more awe-inspiring, than anything we could possibly invent in our imagination.

People who know my technical, science and business background, are often initially astounded when they learn of my position and beliefs surrounding the topics that underpin fearless living, the bedrock foundation to be yourself. It is fun to watch them try to reconcile my science mind and my open mind. It is even more fun to watch them come around over time as the trust we share softens their sometimes skeptical minds. Some of the transformations have been remarkable. I have invested thousands upon thousands of hours over the course of my adult life researching these topics. I have my 10,000 hours invested to build my base of understanding, and my interest and accumulation of information, understanding, and experiential knowing, has grown exponentially over the past several years.

The material referenced on the Resources page of BeYourselfBlog has had the greatest impact on my journey. Being yourself is rooted in fearless living. Fearless living begins with understanding, truly knowing, that "you," your essence, transcends your physical body and brain. To go beyond faith, beyond wishful thinking, perhaps desperate hoping, to an unquestioned knowing of your true nature, is a transition that will change your life. This is why many of these resources relate to this insight. Insight gained from first-hand accounts of people who have had experiences, or witnessed others who have had experiences, that shed light on the fact that your true self is magnificent and indestructible. That you are here by choice, with a plan of possibilities to extract every ounce of value from your life by continuously uncovering, and fearlessly living, who you were born to be. Anita Moorjani is, by far, the most studied and profound example of the change that comes with this understanding through Near Death Experience (NDE). And Bruce Greyson, M.D., Ph.D., is one of the most prolific researchers of human consciousness with 26 years of scientific NDE research. This understanding, this perspective, this knowing, lays the foundation for approaching your life with hope and a lifted spirit, preparing you for the next step, empowered to create the lasting change you desire.

The journey to be yourself, to live the life you were born to live, is a journey of continuous discovery, growth and change. Change will be your constant companion, and you will grow to expect it, welcome it, and embrace it. Because the awesome good news is that you do have the ability to make every change necessary, and to tap into the power needed, to live the best life you choose to imagine. Forward thinking doctors and scientists are coming forward powerfully now, dispelling the myths of our modern age. Myths that make us victims of our biology, our brains, our genetic makeup, our "circumstances." Myths that discount or totally ignore the true nature and source of our human consciousness and true power. Legitimate researchers and thought leaders are blowing up old, outdated thinking, challenging the establishment that perpetuates our conventional western medical and science regime. Dr. Bruce Lipton, a cellular biologist and Ph.D. from the University of Virginia, taught genetics in the Department of Anatomy at the University of Wisconsin’s School of Medicine. His epigenetic research and insight, and study of quantum physics on cellular information processing, is groundbreaking and empowering. You don't have to understand it to use it. But it is proof that we have so much more control over our brain and body than ever imagined by conventional western medical and science minds.

As you ponder this alternative thinking, I urge you to keep an open mind. Conventional minds, well-intended or not, fire their skeptical, closed-minded theories at these alternative views, theories wrapped in arguments they label as "fact" because they fit their model of biological processes and the world as they see it. But make no mistake, every model is built on both the "what," the experimental observations, and the "why," the underpinning theories that attempt to explain the observations. Alternative thinking that challenges these theories are challenging the "whys" of these establishments. This, in turn, threatens the models that financially support millions of careers and thousands upon thousands of businesses, institutions and the educational establishment that feed them. So regardless of how effective alternative approaches may prove to be in real life, they are often vigorously attacked by the entrenched medical and scientific community. Careers and the financial well-being of everything and everyone that supports these traditional models is on the line.

I am painting this with a very broad brush to make a point, unfairly covering over some very notable exceptions to this characterization. There is an undeniable movement afoot that is growing within some, if not many, of these conventional institutions. The body of knowledge and undeniable proof of phenomena, like near death experience in the absence of any brain function whatsoever, and quantum entanglement showing undeniable proof of quantum action at a distance, is growing exponentially. The internet has transformed information sharing, exponentially growing both the body of knowledge and its interconnectedness. My purpose in highlighting the vested interests of conventional thought is only meant to give you enough pause to open your mind to the possibilities. I'm not trying to start a revolution. It's already underway. Change is upon us. A closed mind is a fearful mind. An open mind puts a pause on fear, paving the way to discovery.

That said, real-life evidence supporting the alternate views brought forward by researchers like Dr. Lipton and many others abounds. If you don't need to be convinced, you can skip the theory. In the end, there are very practical, straightforward means for affecting the changes that support your journey to be yourself. While the academics battle it out, you can move forward. You do not have to be a victim of your circumstances. Approached with an open mind, you have the power to master them in ways you may have never thought possible.

Let's grow BeYourselfBlog's Resources page together and make it as helpful as possible to every visitor and subscriber. Unless noted otherwise, I have read, watched, or listen to everything listed there, and then some. Some are fresher in my mind than others, but they are all in me, somewhere.
